Book Haul

Welcome to Turning Pages!

And to another book haul! Costco is one of those most dangerous locations, not necessarily for me, but that big old table of books, is for either my or my mom's wallet. Because we all know, that if we go to Costco, there is NO WAY we're leaving without even quickly skimming the books that lay upon that glorious table of  heavenly bookish goodness!

And what's this Costco even more toxic, is that one of my favorite book stores is only down the street from it, so yes, I HAVE to go there either before or after I shop at Costco!

I wasn't really looking for any specifics, this haul is just random books that either are parts of series I'm trying to complete, or just books I heard were pretty good! So here we go...

One Day (Movie Tie In Edition)One Day by David Nicholls.

"It’s 1988 and Dexter Mayhew and Emma Morley have only just met. But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. Over twenty years, snapshots of that relationship are revealed on the same day—July 15th—of each year. Dex and Em face squabbles and fights, hopes and missed opportunities, laughter and tears. And as the true meaning of this one crucial day is revealed, they must come to grips with the nature of love and life itself."

Something BorrowedSomething Borrowed by Emily Giffin.

""Something Borrowed" tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel has always been the consummate good girl---until her thirtieth birthday, when her best friend, Darcy, throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy's fiance. Although she wakes up determined to put the one-night fling behind her, Rachel is horrified to discover that she has genuine feelings for the one guy she should run from. As the September wedding date nears, Rachel knows she has to make a choice. In doing so, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren't always neat, and sometimes you have to risk all to win true happiness. "Something Borrowed" is a phenomenal debut novel that will have you laughing, crying, and calling your best friend."

The Calling (Darkness Rising, #2)The Calling by Kelley Armstrong.

"Maya and her friends--all of whom have supernatural powers--have been kidnapped after fleeing from a forest fire they suspect was deliberately set, and after a terrifying helicopter crash they find themselves pursued by evildoers in the Vancouver Island wilderness."

Article 5 (Article 5, #1)Article 5, by Kristen Simmons.

"New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., have been abandoned. The Bill of Rights has been revoked, and replaced with the Moral Statutes. There are no more police—instead, there are soldiers. There are no more fines for bad behavior—instead, there are arrests, trials, and maybe worse. People who get arrested usually don't come back. Seventeen-year-old Ember Miller is old enough to remember that things weren't always this way. Living with her rebellious single mother, it's hard for her to forget that people weren't always arrested for reading the wrong books or staying out after dark. It's hard to forget that life in the United States used to be different. Ember has perfected the art of keeping a low profile. She knows how to get the things she needs, like food stamps and hand-me-down clothes, and how to pass the random home inspections by the military. Her life is as close to peaceful as circumstances allow. That is, until her mother is arrested for noncompliance with Article 5 of the Moral Statutes. And one of the arresting officers is none other than Chase Jennings—the only boy Ember has ever loved."

City of Lost Souls (The Mortal Instruments, #5)City of Lost Souls, by Cassandra Clare.

"Can the lost be reclaimed? What price is too high to pay for love? Who can be trusted when sin and salvation collide? Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series."

I'm excited to jump into these books! I haven't heard any bad things about any of these books, so I can't wait to see what I think of them! Have you read any of the titles above? Let me know what you think, by commenting down below with your thoughts or a link to your review!
