It's Tuesday? What Am I Reading?

Welcome to Turning Pages!

Today's Tuesday, I know, but who's counting anyways, right?

Dreamless (Starcrossed, #2)Title: Dreamless.
Author: Josephine Angelini.
Summary:

"Can true love be forgotten?

As the only scion who can descend into the Underworld, Helen Hamilton has been given a nearly impossible task. By night she wanders through Hades, trying to stop the endless cycle of revenge that has cursed her family. By day she struggles to overcome the fatigue that is rapidly eroding her sanity. Without Lucas by her side, Helen is not sure she has the strength to go on.

Just as Helen is pushed to her breaking point, a mysterious new Scion comes to her rescue. Funny and brave, Orion shields her from the dangers of the Underworld. But time is running out. A ruthless foe plots against them, and the Furies' cry for blood is growing louder.

As the ancient Greek world collides with the mortal one, Helen's sheltered life on Nantucket descends into chaos. But the hardest task of all will be forgetting Lucas Delos."

My Thoughts So Far:

I absolutely adored Starcrossed, by Josephine Angelini, so I was dying to finally get my hands on this one, and to start reading. The first one left the reader off with such a dramatic and heartbreaking end, that I had no choice but to rush out pick up, not only the second book, but the third as well...can't let that happen again!

Helen is just starting to embrace her powers, and the extend of them. Instead of focusing on trying to blow up the world, she's attempting her best to refrain from doing that. Even if it means using up all of her energy, when most of it is already going to her trips down to the demon world.

In the first book, I couldn't get enough of Lucas and Helen together, so I'm excited to see how things work between the two in Dreamless, especially when there might just be another boy walking into Helen's picture!

Almost finished, excited to review!

  2. The first one was again just okay for me, so I didn't continue with this series.

    Glad you're reading it though.
