My Thoughts:

Across the Universe had me wrapped around it's finger and I couldn't get enough of the story line, and the relationship between Elder and Amy! I mean, who ever thought the human race would ACTUALLY travel 300 hundred years to finally land on another planet, that's habitable! The story behind Across the Universe was something new, and I can't contain how much I loved reading about Elder and Amy!

Buying the first and second book at the same time, was the best thing I could have ever done. I know I finished Across the Universe at two a.m., but I couldn't help myself, and started reading A Million Suns ten minutes later...(on a school night, don't tell my mom!)

I needed no recaping, I needed no reintroducing, all I needed was for the story to start, and it did! Beth Revis didn't waste any time, and got to the good stuff right away!

Eldest is gone, and its time for Elder to step up to the plate and take charge of the Godspeed and the two thousand something people who call it home. Elder has made the decision to stop putting phydus in the water sources, and comes to the realization that leading a group of people, who can now think for themselves, is a lot harder than he thought, especially because all of the conditions he is under. (No Eldest, he wasn't the next Elder in line, he never finished his training, and now Amy, who...is from a completely different world).

But no matter how hard things get, or how tough a situation may seem, Elder is determined to go on without the use of phydus, which Doc reminds him of often as an easy way out. 

While Godspeed seemed to be on track, Elder was just informed that it wasn't so. Instead it might be behind by a hundred or more years! But Godspeed isn't as simple as it seems, and things aren't as straight forward as Elder, Amy or anyone else has thought. 

Besides the entire traveling and arriving issue, Elder is also discovering multiple dead bodies, each with a patch on their body (phydus patch) and a note that says "Follow the Leader". This has never happened before on Godspeed, and Elder has no idea who is doing this. Not everyone has the ability to get their hands on phydus patches, which only leaves a few options.

Elder is dealer with bigger problems, but Amy is dealing with her own as well. She may never see her parents again, especially if Godspeed is that far behind schedule, or that Amy is left clues by Orion, that she needs to figure out and follow. Unsure if she should tell Elder, Amy takes off on her own to do some searching.

Food is running low, people aren't doing their jobs, bodies with patches are found much more frequently, and one of Elder's friends (or he thought) is trying to take over and rule Godspeed. 

Things may seem bad, but the solution to all these problems, is a lot closer than Elder or Amy thought!

After reading Across the Universe and liking it as much as I did, I was a bit worried that A Million Suns wouldn't live up to all the expectations I had for both the story and for Elder's relationship with Amy. But Beth Revis did it again, she completely hit it out of the park and took my heart with her!

There was suspense, mystery, and romance! I found myself spending a lot of the time trying to figure out who might be putting patches on people, and trying to figure out what Amy and Elder might have overlooked! There was no slow moment in A Million Suns, which I found pretty necessary since not much can happen on a ship like Godspeed.

Elder and Amy seem to be taking small steps, and only following back once or twice, but slowly making progress in a relationship. Amy has finally accepted that Elder isn't her only choice, but instead he was the option she chose. (If you've read the first book, you might remember when she told Elder this).

The ending couldn't have been any better, or any less shocking, my mind is officially mush, because it was blown so many times! I can't wait to pick up the third and final book in this trilogy, and while I'm excited to see how it ends, I'm also a little sad to let go of Amy and Elder.
