Rumors! 5 Series I Haven't Started Reading...

When I see a book for amazing deal, I pick it up! Why? Because it was only a few dollars, why wouldn't I? I would rather pick it up now, than later when I have to pay full price. Duhh.

But why is it that, this first and sometimes even second book in a series, is still sitting in my shelf, unread, and untouched (besides when I dust my shelf)? Why haven't I picked them up and read them yet?

Rumors, THAT'S WHY!

I adore the covers. I find the synopsis intriguing. But rumors are preventing are what prevent me from reading them:

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1)1. Hush Hush Series, by Becca Fitzpatrick.

I own the first and second book, Hush Hush and Crescendo, I EVEN read Hush Hush and LIKED it! But why have I not finished this series? Rumors! Some reviews say that the last few books, are not as interesting as the first one, and that's what held me back from continuing this series!

Evermore (The Immortals, #1)2. Immortal Series, by Alyson Noel.

The first three books are sitting on my shelf, and every time I head to the store, I consider buying the last three books. But why haven't I picked them up yet? Rumors!! Well sorta... I just haven't seen these around much in the blogging world, which makes me nervous!

Fallen (Fallen, #1)3. The Fallen Series, by Lauren Kate.

Fallen and Torment have been sitting on my shelves for more than a good year, and rumors are what have kept me from starting this series! My best friend Shawnee @ YA Fiction Review, has informed me numerous times how much she dislikes these books!

The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1)4. Darkest Powers Trilogy, by Kelley Armstrong.

All THREE books, yes! ALL THREE! Have been sitting on my shelf for more than a year and a half...probably closer to two years! And I haven't picked them up yet! How disappointing am I? I love the covers, the synopsis to the first book sounds great, but I just haven't really heard anyone talk about these books...so what's keeping me from reading this trilogy, NO RUMORS! I've heard not a single thing...

Evernight (Evernight, #1)5. Evernight Series, by Claudia Gray.

Again, this is a bit of an older series, so it hasn't been floating through the blogging world as much as some of the newer releases are. So there being no rumors, is what's hold me back from reading these ones as well.

I payed for these books, I've continued purchasing these books and I WILL read these books! Sooner or later (it's already pretty late, I've accepted the facts). I'm going to ignore all the rumors and start reading these series, hoping that they keep up with their beautiful covers, and they're really interesting synopsis!

(Doin' it like Dory, just keep swimming!)

Have you had a series of books sitting on your shelf, for what seems like ages? Why haven't you started reading them yet? Let me know, down below!

  1. Let's see...

    1. I also read Hush, Hush and thought it was okay but yeah, the second book was terrible and I gave up on the series.

    2. I HATED THIS SERIES. *calms self down* haha. It started out OKAY but went downhill really fast.

    3. I haven't read the Fallen series either because everyone hates them so I know exactly what you mean. I own all of them too :(

    4. I can give you some rumors-I actually liked this books :)

    5. Haha, I also own these but haven't read them!

  2. I've only read the first two from the Fallen series (hated it lol) and Kelley Armstrong's series. I liked that one but it didn't wow me.

These days I wait until the entire series is done to read and I get put off by rumors too. It seems that I have so many books to read so why get lost in a bad one?? On the other hand - just because they don't like it doesn't mean I won't.

  3. Rumors definitely have delayed me from reading quite a few series, but I know I will get to them sooner or later. :) I think it happens to all of us with some series, so I try not to let it stress me too much. :)

I did read The Summoning a few years ago and really enjoyed it! I would definitely recommend picking it up soon! I can't speak for the rest of the series, but I definitely enjoyed the first one. Hope you enjoy all these when you do get to them.

  6. I haven't read...um...ANY of them! >_< I will most definitely be avoiding the Fallen series though, because I loathed Teardrop (I didn't mean to! It just reeeally frustrated me). I've read most of the books I owe (actually I don't own very many. I'm a library addict). But I haven't finished the Gallagher Girl series, and we own the last book. (I'm up to, like, book #4, I think.)

  7. I read Hush, Hush and even have the 2nd book but still haven't read it yet.
I hated the Immortal series, never finished them.
I have read all the books in the Fallen series the 1st, 2nd and 4th book was good but the 3rd book just sucked.
I have heard of the Darkest Powers, almost bought it but like you said i just haven't heard anything about them. Same with the Evernight series.

  8. Ooh, yes I do this! The more things I hear that turn me off the less likely it is I will read something, even if I'm curious! I was always curious about Hush, Hush--and even had a copy at one point--but I heard too many things I didn't like about it, so I decided I wouldn't read it and got rid of my copy. And the Fallen books! I actually read Fallen and didn't hate it, but I couldn't rouse enough interest to continue the series. I don't think there are too many books that I never pick up because of rumors, though; there are more I just never get to because of time! Too many books, too little time. (And why waste that time?) Great post! :)
