Book Review #15: The Body Finder

The Body Finder by Kimberly DertingTitle: The Body Finder.
Author: Kimberly Derting.
Publish Date: February 15, 2011.
Publisher: Harper.

Summary:

"Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her "power" to sense dead bodies or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat left for her. But now that a serial killer is terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, Violet realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet find the murderer and Violet is unnerved by her hope that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself."

Cover Opinion: 4/5
I love black and white covers, their my favorite! This cover is pretty, but I'm not sure if the blue is a flower. But it still looks really good and it matches it's second book well(:

Characters-

Favorite:
I could never pick between the main character, Violet or her best friend/boyfriend Jay! These characters have a lot of depth, and I love the chemistry they have together. Team Jay!:D Woot woot!

Least Favorite:
In this book, I can easily say I don't have a least favorite(:

Storyline: 5/5
Fabulous! I loved that it was something different. For once I actually liked that it didn't just revolve around the romance-y parts, but trust me it did have its AWWW moments:D

When you first meet Violet Ambrose, she's running in circles. Her best friend Jay Heaton (ever since they were younger), changed over the summer and Violet has feelings for him. But she doesn't want to risk losing her friendship, so she claims their just friends. Not only lying to her Chelsea and Claire (two of her buddies), but also herself.

Ever since she was younger, Violet had the ability to sense murdered bodies and their murders; only her family and Jay knows. When a few girls in her small town get kidnapped and murdered, Violet's senses are going crazy. She feels the need to help, going out (with Jay, for protection: Awwww!) looking for the murder (or two). But when she becomes a victim, everything changes!

Ending Opinion: 5/5
I don't want to give too many spoilers! But I had my suspensions on who it could be, but I never knew it would end the way it did!:D If you haven't read The Body Finder, you definitely should, fantastic read(:
