Book Review #16: Vampire Kisses, #1.

Vampire Kisses (Vampire Kisses, #1)Title: Vampire Kisses.
Author: Ellen Screiber.
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books.
Publish Date: October 2009.

Summary:

"In her small town, dubbed "Dullsville," sixteen-year-old Raven — a vampire-crazed goth-girl — is an outcast. But not for long...

The intriguing and rumored-to-be haunted mansion on top of Benson Hill has stood vacant and boarded-up for years. That is, until its mysteriously strange new occupants move in. Who are these creepy people — especially the handsome, dark, and elusive Alexander Sterling? Or rather, what are they? Could the town prattle actually ring true? Are they vampires? Raven, who secretly covets a vampire kiss, both at the risk of her own mortality and Alexander's loving trust, is dying to uncover the truth."

Cover Opinion: 2/5
My favorite thing about this cover is the necklace, besides that I feel like it's just boring and doesn't attract the eye.

Characters-

Favorite:
My favorite person, has to be either Alexander (the new boy that just moved in the abandoned mansion), or Raven's little brother Nerd Boy (Billy). Their both down to earth and aren't what you expect. When you think of a little brother, you think he has to be annoying! But no, his very sweet, and truly loves his older sister:D

When you think of Alexander, you think of someone like Edward Cullen; someone who would avoid contact with you, but his really open to a relationship, maybe even more than any average (non-vampire) guy.

Least:
Trevor, no doubt! His a jerk to everyone, including his very own best friend. He uses people and if he doesn't get what he'll make sure you regret it. During the book, he even uses Raven's best friend, Becky (his dad owns part of Becky's farm), to find out more about Raven's relationship with Alexander.

Storyline: 4/5
Raven has never really fit in, not at home and not at school. Her best friend Becky is the only one she can talk to; when she wants to become a vampire, when she breaks into the empty mansion, and even when she finally meets Alexander, who just moved in.
But no love story is perfect! Trevor, a soccer player from school, of course has to intrude. He has always bullied and pushed Raven around (and even kissed her), but when he finds out that she's talking to Alexander he becomes jealous, and tries ruining everything.
When everything explodes during a school dance (both Alexander and Raven's very first), Alexander is confused and doesn't know what to do! After ignoring Raven for days on end, the truth comes out... *WARNING SPOILER ALERT* including that his a vampire!

Ending Opinion: 4/5
Short and sweet, it was exactly what I was hoping it would be!:D
