Book Review #10: The Iron King

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)Author: Julie Kagawa
Publish Date: February 1, 2010
Number of Pages: 363
Summary:

"Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school...or at home. When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth-that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face...and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart."

My Cover Opinion:

The cover is awesome, beautiful, and crazy pretty! I don't have any other words for it. I love the girl on the cover, I love the font and the blue is very cool!:D

My Overall Opinion:

My favorite character is Ash, hands down. His mysterious ways are very intriguing and dark guys are kinda hot(: Meghan's best friend named Puck, seems very interesting, but sadly you don't hear from him very much. Maybe, we will in the next book (which I'll be purchasing soon).
When you first meet Meghan Chase, she has a pretty average life (which girl doesn't?) she has a normal mom, a step dad (Luke), and a half brother named Ethan. When Meghan was younger her dad disappeared; they were in the park, when Meghan came back from the ice cream truck, he was gone. She hasn't seen him since.
Ethan (4 1/2 years old) has always looked up to his big sister, telling her secrets, and whenever he gets scared of "monsters" under his bed or in his closet, he runs straight to Meghan. One day when he gets kidnapped, Meghan is determined to get him back.
Throughout her adventure she learns her best friend isn't who she thinks he is, she finds her dad (but doesn't find it in here heart to believe it), she meets the ice prince, a talking cat, and a evil iron king. Meghan doesn't want to hurt anyone, but she will do anything to get back her brother, after all he's still a baby and means a lot to her.
During some parts of her adventure, Meghan feels caught between Ash and Puck; who have history together. Even though she thinks Ash has feelings for her, shes not sure why he always seems to be pushing her away. I love, love triangles!:D
But anyways, great book, and cant wait til I purchase the next two books! I have very high expectations, hopefully they'll be exceeded! If you read The Iron King, or any of the other books, please comment below, and tell me what you think about the series and the covers!(:

  1. DEFINITELY one of the best books EVER. The Love triangle, the pain, the loss, THE DRAMA. Jeez, didn't know I was so dramatic myself ;) Love this series, currently reading The Iron Queen (LOVE IT!) and I have the Iron Knight for review, so everything's goin' great :D. Nice review!

  2. Oh Lisa... you NEED to read the other books in this series! It just gets better from this point on, even though you'll probably be annoyed with Meghan at the start of The Iron Daughter (I wanted to smack her). Aren't the covers so gorgeous? Great review!
