So if you haven't already stopped by and checked out Shawnee @ YA Fiction Review, she recently posted her trip to this amazing book store...well guess what?!
...I was there too! With her!
...Well actually I took her there for her first time, and that book store never ceases to amaze me! Honestly imagine this building, that looks small-ish from the outside, but is absolutely massive from the inside. There are bookshelves ten feet high, and only God knows how long! Books are overflowing these shelves, so the entire floor is covered in books as well!
Not only does this store have a zillion different books, but they're also used and cheap. Some books are already going for twenty five cents before you even walk into the door, and as soon as you step in, there are some more books for only a dollar!
The YA section is right by the entrance so there is NO WAY you can miss it! But if you have enough time on your hands and are lucky enough, you might find a few more YA gems hidden throughout the store!
I could easily spend a few hours in this store just looking, climbing, digging and hauling amazing books...and all on a college girl's spending budget! After I did that, I wouldn't mind running across the street, grabbing a Venti coffee and spending another hour or two inside reading.
I LOVE my Half Price Books, my Barnes and Nobles, my Book Outlet, and Amazon, but there is honestly just something magical about these type of mom and pop bookstores, that I can't even describe.
Do you have any local bookstores like this one? Is it overflowing with amazing books?
Ohohoh my gosh! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL THING. My town has a grand total of ONE bookstore and several 2nd hand stores, which I adore. I don't often find good YA books there, but when I do it's awesome. But there are so many shelves in that one you've been too! Talk about bookish hyperventilating. XD
ReplyDeleteI know! I get WAY to excited to go there, or even try to explain people just HOW AWESOME this store is! This one actually has a BIG YA section. But I know how much it sucks when you go to a used book store and they don't have any YA books.

I don't think we have something like this in my city, maybe in other cities. But it looks great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post!
I didn't think they had anything like this where I live either, but you have to keep your eyes open for the small and hidden places (:
