It's Monday, What Am I Reading?

Second StarTitle: Second Star.
Author: Alyssa B. Sheinmel.
Summary:

"A twisty story about love, loss, and lies, this contemporary oceanside adventure is tinged with a touch of dark magic as it follows seventeen-year-old Wendy Darling on a search for her missing surfer brothers. Wendy’s journey leads her to a mysterious hidden cove inhabited by a tribe of young renegade surfers, most of them runaways like her brothers. Wendy is instantly drawn to the cove’s charismatic leader, Pete, but her search also points her toward Pete's nemesis, the drug-dealing Jas. Enigmatic, dangerous, and handsome, Jas pulls Wendy in even as she's falling hard for Pete. A radical reinvention of a classic, Second Star is an irresistible summer romance about two young men who have yet to grow up--and the troubled beauty trapped between them."

My Thoughts So Far: I haven't started this one just yet, but I plan on doing so, tonight after I struggle my way through some homework! I don't even know too much about this one, except the BEAUTIFUL cover reminds me SO MUCH of summer, and makes me want to go to the beach! I also know that this is suppose to be a retelling of Peter Pan, but I have no idea how that works out, because the story revolves around surfer dudes. Excited to get started on this one, and I can't wait to see how the author retells one of my favorite stories!

  1. Peter Pan is SO one of my favourite classics of all time (that and Alice in Wonderland XD) so I'm pretty keen to read this book too, although I've read some pretty doozy reviews on it. >_< Can't wait to hear what you think!

    1. I know, that's why I'm a little hesitant, because of some reviews I've read and rumors I've heard. But I still want to go in reading it with an open mind to make up my own opinion!

    1. UGH! I know exactly how you feel, with all this sunshine we're having I would much rather be reading summer books, than sitting in class trying to learn Calculus or Microeconomics...
