Waiting on Wednesday!

Side Effects May VaryTitle: Side Effects May Vary.
Author: Julie Murphy.
Summary:

"What if you'd been living your life as if you were dying—only to find out that you had your whole future ahead of you?

When sixteen-year-old Alice is diagnosed with leukemia, her prognosis is grim. To maximize the time she does have, she vows to spend her final months righting wrongs—however she sees fit. She convinces her friend Harvey, who she knows has always had feelings for her, to help her with a crazy bucket list that's as much about revenge (humiliating her ex-boyfriend and getting back at her archnemesis) as it is about hope (doing something unexpectedly kind for a stranger). But just when Alice's scores are settled, she goes into remission.

Now Alice is forced to face the consequences of all that she's said and done, as well as her true feelings for Harvey. But has she caused irreparable damage to the people around her—and to the one person who matters most?"

Release Date: 3/18/14.

Why I'm Waiting:

People are always shouting YOLO, live each day like it's your last, and Alice seems to be doing just that! I haven't read any books with leukemia, or where the main character only had a certain amount of time to live, but I'm excited to see all the crazy and amazing things Alice does in the small amount of time she has left. But I'm even more PUMPED about seeing what consequences Alice is going to face, when she goes into remission.

The synopsis sounds REALLY good, and I can't wait to get the chance to pick it up!

What are you waiting for this week?

  1. I saw very negative reviews about this book. Mostly about how unlikable the MC's personalities are and how abusive and manipulative she is towards her friends. You should check those out before you pick it up. This seemed to be a promising book went way downhill.
